Jean-Claude Cormier - Chairman of the Board

Jean-Claude is a retired teacher. He was born and raised in Saint-Antoine de Kent. In addition to teaching, he was involved in many organizations there, including six years as Mayor and nine years as Village Councillor. He was also president of the NB Association of Francophone Teachers for three years. Since 2012, Jean-Claude has been a Councillor for Ward 2 in Dieppe. And, he has been working with Go Ahead Seniors Inc. as program director since 2005. He has been a member of the Board for the past six years and has been the chairperson for over a year. He is interested in helping the less fortunate.

Valmond Daigle - Vice-president

Valmond had a career of some thirty years in the field of social work. He was  employed by the Department of Social Development as a front-line worker and as a team supervisor in Child Protection Services. At the community level, he has served as a volunteer on various non-profit boards. He has sat on the Board of Directors since the inception of the Second Chance Workshop.

Paul Bourgeois - Treasurer

Paul had a career in youth and adult education. He held positions of responsibility at the New Brunswick Community College, the Memramcook Institute and in the public school system, at all levels. He has long been involved as a volunteer in various public organizations. The double objective of our project (education and environmental protection) is in line with his convictions and his experience.

Etienne Lurette – Member and Consultant

Etienne, who holds a bachelor's degree in social work from the Université de Moncton, worked for Social Development for 32 years. A passionate case manager, he has been involved with Second Chance Workshop’s pre-employment program since its inception in 2014. Currently retired, Etienne led the committee that developed the “Light Program”; a task that aims, among other things, to enable homeless people to find new meaning in their lives. Etienne, member of the Board, has acted as a consultant for the light program since it was launched in September 2022

Charline Maillet - Member

Charline grew up in the small village of Saint-Antoine de Kent. She is a graduate of the Université de Moncton with a bachelor's degree in education. She retired in 2016 after 31 years in the field of education. She has served on several committees throughout her career. Since her retirement, among other things, she has been responsible for distributing hot meals to seniors' homes. She is a person who is committed to helping people in need.

Candace Lamlenglar - member

Candace completed a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Arts at the Université de Moncton in 2014, with a specialization in Psychology. She has worked for the Department of Social Development since 2018 as a case manager. Her extensive experience in the field allows her to discover the real needs of her clients, while developing relationships of collaboration and trust with them. A person of compassion, her contribution as a member of the Board of Directors is greatly appreciated.

Marie-Josée Maillet - Member

Marie-Josée Maillet is a retired chiropractor having done her undergraduate studies at Université de Moncton before graduating from CMCC in Toronto in 1995 with her doctorate in Chiropractic. Upon graduation, she worked in Ottawa before returning to her home province and founding the Riverview Chiropractic Clinic with her husband.  Throughout the years, she has volunteered in various organizations including minor hockey, catechism, several professional committees as well as on the New Brunswick Chiropractors Association Board of Directors from 2014-2018.  She joined the Board of Directors of Second Chance/Enviro Plus Workshop in 2022.

Léonard Goguen – Member

A graduate of the Université de Moncton and the Université de Montréal in psychology, Dr. Léonard Goguen was recognized as professor emeritus in educational sciences by the Université de Moncton in 2014 after thirty years as a professor. A career psychologist, he has served a large clientele in Quebec and New Brunswick. He still maintains a one-day-a-week practice in Dieppe with people living with trauma and bereavement.

Edward (Ted) Gaudet - Member

Ted Gaudet holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Université de Moncton with a specialization in “Biochemistry”.

 

He retired after 29 years from the Federal Public Service as Executive Vice-President (Assistant Deputy Minister) of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA). Following that, he became Project Development Officer, Economic Development Corporation of the City of Dieppe NB.

 

While in public service and prior to the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, he became a senior executive with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and was positioned throughout Canada (Halifax, Quebec City, Ottawa, Vancouver, and Moncton).

 

During his career, he served on the Board of the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce, Capitol Theater, Codiac Transport, Urbain/Rural Transport and Expansion Dieppe. He was also President of a research and development council at the Université de Moncton. He was elected municipal councillor of the City of Dieppe for two terms. He currently sits on the board of directors of Atlantic Ballet.

 

Since September 2022, he has been a pairing officer with the Retiree Employment Agency which is financed by WorkingNB and managed through the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce. A person of vast experience, his participation as a new member of the Board is greatly appreciated.

Germain Aubaume - Member

Germain holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Social Sciences Degree (specialization in Political Science) obtained at the Université de Moncton. He worked for over ten years in the government of Quebec, as an Employment Counselor, and in the government of New Brunswick as a Case Manager. Then he served as a Housing Program Officer. He has been working for the federal government for the past three years. The mission of Second Chance Workshop/Enviro Plus corresponds to his deep convictions in human development, which fully justifies his commitment to the Board of Directors.
